WLA – The World Lottery Association

world lottery association

WLA is proud to serve the interests of more than 150 state-authorized lotteries and sports betting operators, as well as suppliers to the industry. Across six continents, WLA members raise more than USD 80 billion each year to fund good causes and help players have safe, responsible fun.

After a year that was marked by the global COVID-19 pandemic, 2022 saw the world lottery community begin to turn the page and return to business as usual. It was a remarkable recovery punctuated by the 2022 World Lottery Summit, which set new attendance records and showcased the industry’s resilience.

At the GLMS General Meeting in October, the organization officially changed its name to United Lotteries for Integrity in Sports (ULIS). This strategic shift reflects a growing commitment by both GLMS and a number of member lotteries to lead the fight against match-fixing and illegal betting on sporting events.

Throughout the year, various events take place that are relevant to the world lottery and sports betting industries. Here you will find links to the conventions hosted by the regional associations – ALA, APLA, CIBELAE, EL and NASPL – as well as other industry events that may be of interest to the global lottery community.

As a true global association, international cooperation is at the heart of everything we do. The success of WLA events, conferences and seminars is only possible through the collaboration with our regional counterparts and the broader lottery and sports betting industry. We also work closely with thought leaders from outside the sector to deliver education and insight into a range of topics – from corporate social responsibility and responsible gaming to sports data management.
