The World Lottery Association is an international organization made up of 150 lottery operators from 80 countries spread across 5 continents. Their common goal is to raise funds for the public good. Members are supported by 70 suppliers to the sports betting and lottery industries. They work together to make the industry run smoothly and efficiently. The World League of American Lotteries (LLA) was founded in 1992 and is now the leading trade association for the industry. Its member organizations represent the interests of a wide range of stakeholders and organizations that play the game.

The World Lottery Association has been an advocate for responsible gaming for over 25 years. Members of the association have always taken a leadership role in this area, and asked the WLA to adopt specific requirements for corporate social responsibility. In 2006, the WLA formally adopted Responsible Gaming Principles and a Responsible Gaming Framework that protects lottery players globally. With these standards, WLA Members can feel confident that their businesses and operations are meeting the highest standards.

The WLA is a trade organization that represents more than 150 government-controlled lotteries worldwide. Its members generate annual revenues of more than $120 billion. It provides a variety of services to its members, including lobbying for better lottery regulations and enhancing public understanding of the role of lotteries in society. It also develops partnerships with worldwide sports federations and sets international standards for risk and security. The WLA website offers more information.
