The World Lottery Association

The world lottery association is the global professional association of state-authorized lotteries and sports betting operators from 80 countries on six continents, with member revenues of $250 billion and a commitment to the highest standards of social responsibility, responsible gaming and security. WLA members also share a commitment to the use of lottery proceeds to support the public good.

The Association is engaged in a wide range of activities to advance the interests of its membership, including promotion and advocacy of the special role that state-authorized lotteries play in society. These efforts include raising awareness of the gaming policy implications that affect the industry worldwide, fighting piracy and unfair competition, and supporting regional lottery organizations in their dialogue with legislators.

In addition to its advocacy and promotion efforts, the WLA supports its member lotteries in their daily business operations by providing a range of services. These include a global network of experts to consult on specific issues, the provision of research and analysis, and access to a wide range of tools that help them manage their businesses.

The WLA also hosts a biennial pinnacle international convention that draws hundreds of lotteries, suppliers and other industry players from around the world. This gathering is widely recognized as the most important lottery event in the industry. It features a full program of business sessions, a showcase of supplier products and services, and a broad social program. It is the ideal place for state-authorized lotteries to learn about the latest trends and developments in the industry, exchange ideas and expand their networks.
