The world lottery association is the global network of state-authorized lotteries working together to create better products and promote responsible gaming for their customers. Besides acting as a forum for collaboration, the organisation also has responsibility for protecting lottery integrity and brand image.

The WLA has a range of resources to support its members in this important area. Its blog is a key platform for communicating with the industry, while its magazine provides an inside view of the association and its business. The organisation is also committed to combating illegal lottery operations by promoting awareness and sharing information. It also maintains a key database on the operational, legal and commercial situation of these unauthorised operations.

This work is facilitated by the WLA Security and Risk Management Committee, which is composed of lottery security experts from its members. It has recently updated the WLA Security Control Standard (WLA-SCS) to improve it, consolidating controls where necessary to avoid redundancy, and adding new ones to reflect the evolution of the industry.

Any company that supplies goods and services to the Lottery or Sports Betting industries is eligible for Associate Membership, as long as it has business practices that are in line with the aims and objectives of the WLA. This includes suppliers of online and off-line systems, terminals, printers, video lottery terminals, special papers, dispensers and drawing machines, telecommunication organizations and ticket printers, game designers, marketing and advertising specialists, auditors and trade magazines.
