The World Lottery Association is a global organization that represents and protects the interests of state lotteries. It serves as a forum for sharing industry intelligence and technological developments. In addition, it provides a framework for promoting Responsible Gaming.

WLA works to advance the collective interests of its member lotteries, which include those in the Asia Pacific, European and North American regions. Through its activities, the Association helps its members stay ahead of changing consumer preferences, regulatory trends and demographics. Additionally, the Association supports efforts to combat illegal lottery operations.

The World Lottery Association has several committees. One of them is the Illegal Lotteries and Betting Committee, which advises member lotteries on how to combat unauthorised lottery operations.

Another committee of the WLA is the Independent Assessment Panel, which is a group of corporate social responsibility experts. They evaluate and select submissions for the WLA Responsible Gaming Awards.

The Association also has a group of women leaders, known as the Women’s Initiative in Lottery Leadership. Their mission is to encourage more women to enter the lottery industry.

Currently, the World Lottery Association has more than 150 government-authorized lotteries representing state-run organizations in five continents. These lottery operators raise millions of dollars to support good causes.

Since its inception in 1999, the World Lottery Association has served as an international organization that brings together lottery operators from across the world. This includes state-operated lotteries, as well as suppliers to the lottery industry.
