The World Lottery Association (WLA) is a global professional association of state lotteries, gaming organizations, and suppliers. Members of the association include more than 150 lotteries across 80 countries and five continents. These organizations adhere to the highest standards of responsible gaming and social responsibility, and contribute the majority of their net revenue to good causes. Whether your lottery is a state or international, the WLA has a guide for you.

The WLA has a long and distinguished history as an authority on the lottery industry. It is a non-profit organization made up of state-authorized lotteries and gaming organizations from more than 80 countries. The WLA’s Responsible Gaming Principles and Framework is a certification program that allows for cultural differences and complements individual lottery operator safeguards. The WLA has endorsed a set of 10 program elements, including the Responsible Gaming Principles and Framework.

The Macolin Convention calls for sanctions against those engaging in sports manipulation, laundering the proceeds of such activities, and aiding and abetting such practices. Punitive measures may include monetary sanctions, imprisonment, confiscation, or seizure. Such sanctions must be proportionate and effective, as well as consistent with domestic laws. A good way to get started on this process is by downloading the WLA Global Lottery Data Compendium.
