The World Lottery Association (WLA) is a global organization of lottery companies and operators. It has a long history of service, and in 2019 it welcomed a new president and executive director. A key role for the WLA in the fight against illegal betting and sports competition manipulation is the Macolin Convention. It provides practical tools for national lotteries to combat the practice of gambling and protect the integrity of their sports. It also offers a framework for global surveillance and serves as an information hub for players.
